CSW (Certified Social Worker)

Bringing the family together to heal from all angles.
“I love working with kids and teens but have found the most success in helping them face the challenges in their lives when there is familial involvement. Kids are just that, kids. They need the love and support of their families to help them face and conquer the challenges in their lives. Creating a strong family bond is what can really help a kid move forward and be successful.”

Ali was born and raised in Cottonwood Heights, UT. She attended Utah State University in Logan, UT for 2 years before transferring to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City where she finished her Bachelor of Social Work. She received her Masters of Social Work with an emphasis of Child Welfare from the University of Utah in 2014.

Ali started working in the social work field in 2010 and found her passion of working with kids and teens. She started at The Children’s Center in their therapeutic preschool working with young children and loved interacting with them and helping them find their voice and express how they were feeling. She then worked in a residential treatment center and an inpatient psychiatric care facility where she interacted with kids, teens and adults with a variety of mental health needs. As she continued her schooling she enjoyed amazing internships. These included working in an after school program through Valley Mental Health with kids and teens and doing therapy with low income families at the Family Support Center. Her final internship before graduation was with the Utah Youth Village. She worked with youth in a day treatment setting as well as young girls in a group home. After graduation she stayed with Utah Youth Village and continued working with those populations. The kids and teens she worked with were in foster care. A lot of them had traumatic experiences to process, family wounds to heal and skills to learn. Ali loved working with them to achieve this. As Ali and her husband started to grow their family, she decided to cut back her hours. She started working at Resolutions Counseling Center in Bountiful continuing her work with kids, teens and their families. Throughout all of these experiences she has learned how to support families and their children with mental health needs. She believes that if healing and change is to happen there needs to be involvement from not just the child but also their support system.

Most of her experience is working with anxiety, depression, processing trauma (such as abuse and neglect), teaching parenting skills and coping skills. Ali is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Her goal with clients is to work with them and their families using their strengths so they can succeed in their circumstances.

Ali and her husband live in Layton Utah with their 3 children. She loves spending time with her family, being athletic and doing creative projects around her house. She loves getting together with her friends but also enjoys a quiet night at home watching TV.
