Tami Denton, Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC), is an Arizona native and attended school at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, and Utah State University in Logan, Utah. Tami spent many of her child-raising years as a teacher in east Texas and considers the south her “home.” While an elementary school teacher, Tami was called “the child whisperer.” She decided to get her master’s degree in counseling because she wanted to help kids on a deeper level.
Tami is very excited to be part of the team at NeuroTherapy and Trauma Center of Utah, bridging the mind and body to work more effectively together. She currently works with populations that include trauma history, attachment difficulty, behavioral concerns and addictions. She runs group work teaching psychoeducational skills and likes to spend her time pursuing techniques that benefit her clients.
Her hobbies include quilting, hiking, walking, reading, canning, watching movies, and playing games with her children. Her current favorite games include Settlers of Catan, chess, and various card games. On her bucket list is a goal to hike the Grand Canyon and to be a grandmother.
